đŻ Day 19 â The Flame Is for Others
đ âYou are the light of the world⊠let your light shine before others.â â Matthew 5:14â16
đ 1. Exegetical Read
Jesusâ words in Matthew 5 are not poetic suggestionâthey are identity statements. âYou are the light of the world.â Not you might be, or you will be when youâre matureâbut you are.
And light, by nature, is not hidden. It reveals. It confronts darkness. It provides direction.
Jesus continues: âLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.â The goal of the light is never self-glory. It is reflectionâpointing others back to the Source.
The light you carry was never meant to stay private. It was meant to pierce darkness.
đ 2. Connection to the Week: Ready the Fire
This week has been about readinessâbut readiness is not just about you. Itâs about your posture for others.
The oil was personal. The altar was private. The fire was intimate. But now the flame must travel.
You carry something sacredâbut itâs not supposed to be hidden under shame, fear, or self-preservation. Your fire is meant to illuminate someone elseâs path. The places youâve been refined may become someone elseâs rescue.
Donât underestimate what your light carries. Especially in a midnight hour.
đĄ 3. Reconciling Moment
Someone near you is still stumbling in the dark. And they donât need your perfectionâthey need your flame.
You werenât restored just to be whole. You were restored to be seenâas a testimony of the altar, the oil, and the One who lit the fire in you.
So burn humbly. Shine clearly. And let the fire point back to the God who met you when no one else saw.
â Prompt:
Who around me needs the light I now carry?
