šÆ Day 10 ā Lay the Sacrifice
š āPresent your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.ā ā Romans 12:1
š 1. Exegetical Read
Paulās call in Romans 12:1 is both radical and reasonable. He urges believers to presentānot just their offerings, but their very bodiesāas living sacrifices. In the Greek, the word for āpresentā (paristÄmi) means to place beside, to yield fully, to offer up in full view.
This is not a one-time act. Itās a posture. A life laid down.
Under the Old Covenant, sacrifices were slain. Under the New, we stay aliveāyielded, surrendered, daily placed on the altar. Holiness is not proven by passion. Itās proven by placement. Where are you laid? What have you offered?
The sacrifice is no longer bulls or goatsāitās you.
š 2. Connection to the Week: Rebuild the Altar
The altar is being rebuiltābut no altar is complete without something laid upon it.
Carrying wood is about discipline. Laying sacrifice is about devotion. You donāt get fire without fuel. And the truest fuel is your surrendered lifeāyour schedule, your comfort, your plans, your obedience.
The altar isnāt just a place of encounterāitās a place of exchange. You bring your body⦠and He brings His fire.
š” 3. Reconciling Moment
What are you holding back from the altar?
You donāt have to be perfect to be pleasingāyou just have to be placed. Lay it down. Lay you down. You are not the firestarterāyou are the sacrifice. And when the sacrifice is real, the fire will always fall.
ā Prompt:
What is God asking me to lay down in this season?
