šŸ•Æ Day 10 – Lay the Sacrifice

šŸ“– ā€œPresent your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.ā€ – Romans 12:1

šŸ” 1. Exegetical Read

Paul’s call in Romans 12:1 is both radical and reasonable. He urges believers to present—not just their offerings, but their very bodies—as living sacrifices. In the Greek, the word for ā€œpresentā€ (paristēmi) means to place beside, to yield fully, to offer up in full view.

This is not a one-time act. It’s a posture. A life laid down.

Under the Old Covenant, sacrifices were slain. Under the New, we stay alive—yielded, surrendered, daily placed on the altar. Holiness is not proven by passion. It’s proven by placement. Where are you laid? What have you offered?

The sacrifice is no longer bulls or goats—it’s you.

šŸ” 2. Connection to the Week: Rebuild the Altar

The altar is being rebuilt—but no altar is complete without something laid upon it.

Carrying wood is about discipline. Laying sacrifice is about devotion. You don’t get fire without fuel. And the truest fuel is your surrendered life—your schedule, your comfort, your plans, your obedience.

The altar isn’t just a place of encounter—it’s a place of exchange. You bring your body… and He brings His fire.

šŸ’” 3. Reconciling Moment

What are you holding back from the altar?

You don’t have to be perfect to be pleasing—you just have to be placed. Lay it down. Lay you down. You are not the firestarter—you are the sacrifice. And when the sacrifice is real, the fire will always fall.

āœ Prompt:
What is God asking me to lay down in this season?
