🕯 Day 12 – Fire Falls on the Aligned
📖 “Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the offering… and the people fell on their faces.” – 1 Kings 18:38–39
🔍 1. Exegetical Read
Then the fire of the Lord fell.
The timing in 1 Kings 18 is not accidental. After Elijah rebuilt the altar, brought the wood, laid the offering, and drenched it in obedience—then the fire fell. The Hebrew word for “fell” (naphal) means to descend decisively, suddenly, and with weight.
This wasn’t an emotional spark. It was the consuming, confirming presence of God. And it came not because of Elijah’s charisma—but because everything was in order.
God responded to alignment. The altar was ready—and heaven moved.
🔁 2. Connection to the Week: Rebuild the Altar
All week we’ve been rebuilding what was broken. But this is the turning point—the moment where you begin to realize: God has been waiting for this.
He’s not reluctant. He’s not withholding. He’s just holy. He does not pour fire where the foundation is fractured. But when the altar is in order, the offering is laid, and obedience saturates the ground… He responds.
Fire confirms what’s been restored. And when it falls, it doesn’t just touch the sacrifice—it calls the people back to their faces.
💡 3. Reconciling Moment
If it’s felt quiet or delayed, don’t lose heart. God is not far—He is waiting for the altar to be aligned.
You are closer than you think.
Keep preparing. Keep surrendering. The fire you’ve been longing for doesn’t come through pressure—it comes through order. And when it falls, it will consume what you’ve laid down… and awaken what’s still asleep around you.
✍ Prompt:
Is my altar in order? Where might I still be out of alignment?
