🕯 Day 13 – Keep the Fire Burning

📖 “The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out.” – Leviticus 6:13

🔍 1. Exegetical Read

In Leviticus 6, God gives specific instructions for the priests: once the fire is lit on the altar, it must never go out. Morning by morning, they were to add wood, remove ash, and tend to the flame. This wasn’t a suggestion—it was a command.

The Hebrew word for “must not go out” (lo tikhbeh) is absolute. No exceptions. The fire wasn’t self-sustaining. It was God-initiated, but man-maintained.

The priests didn’t create the fire—but they were responsible to keep it burning.

🔁 2. Connection to the Week: Rebuild the Altar

We’ve rebuilt the altar. We’ve laid the sacrifice. We’ve watched fire fall. But now comes the quiet command: tend it.

Revival is not sustained by a moment. It’s sustained by stewardship. The presence of God does not linger where devotion is abandoned. And passion will fade where there is no pattern.

This is not about hype or pressure. It’s about rhythm. Add the wood. Clear the ash. Protect the flame.

💡 3. Reconciling Moment

If the fire feels dimmer than it was, don’t panic. You’re not failing—you just need to tend it again.

Consistency is not legalism. It’s guarding what God gave you. Go back to the prayer time. Reopen the Word. Add wood, even when it feels dry.

He lit the fire. You keep it burning.

Prompt:
What commitment do I need to renew so the fire won’t go out?
