📖 Colossians 2:20 (NKJV)

“Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations?”

🔍 Exegetical Insight: "If you died" (ei apethanete) uses first class conditional - "since you died" - assuming the reality. "Basic principles" (stoicheia) refers to elementary spiritual forces or worldly systems. The cross breaks the power of worldly systems over your choices and identity.
