📖 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

🔍 Exegetical Insight: "Chosen generation" (genos eklekton) means selected race—not ethnic but spiritual lineage. "Royal priesthood" (basileion hierateuma) combines kingly authority with priestly access. "His own special people" (laos eis peripoiēsin) means "people for possession"—precious treasure. The purpose clause "that you may proclaim" (hopōs exangeilēte) shows that identity enables testimony. Persistent prayer flows from understanding who you are, not trying to become who you're not.
