📖 2 Peter 1:5–6 (NKJV)

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness.

🔍 Exegetical Insight: "Add" (epichorēgēsate) means to supply lavishly or provide abundantly—like a wealthy sponsor funding a theatrical production. Each virtue becomes the platform for the next. "Giving all diligence" (spoudēn pasan pareisenenkaƒtes) means bringing in alongside with earnest effort. This isn't self-improvement but Spirit-enabled development. The progression builds character capacity for greater fruitfulness and faithfulness.
